ACT-ESL: Training>Follow-ups with Technical Assistants
Technical assistance is the second stage of our 3-tiered training which includes Summer Institute, Technical Assistants, and Building of Professional Learning Communities. Four Technical Assistants (one in each content area) provide technical assistance through three teaching observations and feedback in the participants’ own classrooms. The technical assistance during the two semesters following the summer institute is to help the participants’ implementation of their skills and knowledge in real classroom context. One post-seminar at the end of the year (April) is to also facilitate their reflective teaching practice and to enhance their ESL instructional skills. Teachers receive a stipend for participation in the post-seminar.
